"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."

Understanding Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs)
Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders can occur during pregnancy or anytime in the first two years after birth. They may include:
-
Depression during or after pregnancy
-
Persistent anxiety or panic
-
Intrusive thoughts or OCD symptoms
-
Birth trauma or PTSD, or feeling deeply sad about your birth experience
-
A general sense of not feeling like yourself

My Approach
Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to filter or
minimize what you’re feeling. Together, we will:
-
Reduce anxiety and depression using evidence-based approaches
-
Process difficult or overwhelming experiences (including birth trauma)
-
Help you communicate more effectively with your partner and others, so your relationships don’t suffer
-
Explore how past experiences (like your relationship with your own parents) may be shaping your current reactions
-
Help you feel more grounded, steady, and like yourself again
I integrate modalities like CBT and DBT, with much of my work rooted in EMDR to help process and shift the underlying patterns that keep you feeling stuck
