EMDR Therapy in New Jersey and New York

EMDR therapy can heal in a few sessions what years of talk therapy might have left feeling unresolved

As a certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA approved EMDR consultant, I use EMDR both for perinatal issues, as well as for anything else that comes up that might be keeping you stuck.
You might notice that certain thoughts, reactions, or emotions feel stronger than they “should' and you feel triggered or overwhelmed in ways you can’t fully explain

You keep having the same emotional reactions or relationship patterns, and you feel like something from your past is getting in the way of your present.

You’ve talked about things in therapy—but they still feel unresolved.

Maybe you keep reliving the same experience (your birth story, certain interactions with your parents the defined your relationship, or abuse or assault that ended years ago.

Trauma doesn't always have to be a big single event. Maybe you've always felt a constant pressure to be a people pleaser and do it all, and you wonder where this pressure came from.Everyone defines trauma differently, and nothing is to big or too small to be addressed using EMDR.
Welcome
What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process and integrate difficult experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. Rather than only talking through what happened, EMDR works with how your brain and nervous system have stored those experiences.
Your brain is naturally wired to heal and process experiences, and EMDR taps into that natural ability

What EMDR can help with?
-
Distressing memories from childhood or adolescence,
events like an accident, miscarriage, or traumatic birth
-
Relationship patterns rooted in earlier experiences
-
Self-limiting beliefs (feeling not good enough, needing to hold everything together)
-
Preparing for a subsequent pregnancy after trauma
-
Birth trauma and difficult delivery experiences
-
Pregnancy loss and infertility-related grief
-
Anxiety, panic, and intrusive thoughts

How EMDR works in practice

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or gentle tapping) while you focus on specific memories, thoughts, or sensations. This allows your brain to process experiences in a deeper, more adaptive way—often more efficiently than talk therapy alone
In my practice, I integrate EMDR with more traditional talk-based approaches, so you feel both supported and grounded throughout the process.

EMDR can be done in person in Westfield, NJ or virtually across New Jersey and New York.

I use a secure platform designed specifically for remote EMDR, and both formats can be highly effective.

My approach

I use EMDR in a paced, collaborative way.You won’t be pushed to go faster than you’re ready for. We focus first on helping you feel grounded, resourced, and in control, so the work feels manageable and safe.
