Postpartum Therapy for Anxiety, Depression & OCD in New Jersey & New York

Support for new moms who feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or unlike themselves after having a baby.

There’s a lot of pressure for the postpartum period (which extends from birth until your baby turns two) to be filled with joy, but for many women, it can also feel intense, disorienting, and overwhelming.

You might look like you’re managing on the outside, but internally feel:
-
Constantly anxious or on edge
-
Stuck in racing or intrusive thoughts
-
Overwhelmed by responsibility and pressure
-
Disconnected from yourself, your baby, or your partner
-
Unsure why this feels so much harder than expected
-

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and this is something we can work through together.
You might be experiencing:
-
Persistent anxiety or constant “what if” thoughts
-
Intrusive thoughts about safety or harm (often unwanted and distressing)
-
Postpartum depression, including sadness, numbness, or irritability
-
Difficulty sleeping beyond what’s expected with a newborn
-
Guilt, shame, or feeling like you’re not doing this “right”
-
A loss of identity or sense of self

These experiences are common, highly treatable, and not a reflection of who you are as a parent.

How therapy can help
In our work together, we focus on both relief and understanding what’s underneath what you’re feeling.

We’ll work to:
-
Reduce anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts
-
Help your nervous system feel calmer and more regulated
-
Process your birth experience if it felt overwhelming or traumatic
-
Rebuild confidence and trust in yourself as a parent
-
Help you feel more present, connected, and like yourself again

I use a trauma-informed approach and often incorporate EMDR therapy to help process experiences at a deeper level, not just manage symptoms.

This doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong
Postpartum mental health struggles are not a failure.
They’re a response to a massive physical, emotional, and identity shift.

With the right support, things can feel different.
You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
I offer postpartum therapy in Westfield, NJ, and virtual sessions across New Jersey and New York.
